Curriculum Vitae
- Michael F. Schneider studied Biology, was awarded an MSc in 1990 and a PhD in 1993.
- From 1989 to 1993 he has worked as a Scientific Officer at the University of Mainz, Germany and has been involved in a research project on the biological control of migrating locusts in Madagascar/East Africa.
- From 1994 to 1999 he has taught Entomology, Wildlife and Conservation at the Bulolo University College, Bulolo, and Department of Forestry, University of Technology, Lae, Papua New Guinea.
- In 2000 he was attached to the Institute of Zoology, University of Mainz, studying antibacterial peptides of insects.
- From 2001 to 2005 he has taught Wildlife and Protected Area Management at the Forestry Department, University Eduardo Mondlane, Maputo, Mozambique.
- In 2005 he has joined his family business (Hotel Pfeiffermuehle) and is in charge of nature-based activities and environmental education for hotel guests and school classes.
- As a freelance biologist he gives presentations on nature topics (e. g. geology of the Alps, flora and fauna of the Allgaeu region, alien species, poisonous plants and animals, legal aspects of conservation, climate change), takes people on excursions and carries out projects on applied nature consercation.
- 2012 trained as nature guide (www.wanderverband.de).
- Since Oktober 2012 trains nature guides and walk leaders in the field of natural history of the Allgaeu region (www.wanderverband-bayern.de).
- Since April 2013 member of the advisory council of Landschaftspflegeverband Oberallgäu-Kempten e. V. (www.landschaftspflege-allgaeu.de)
- Since August 2013 founding member and lecturer of „Allgäuer Heimat-Akademie“ (www.allgaeuer-heimatakademie.de).
- Since September 2014 member of the nature conservation council of Oberallgaeu District (Naturschutzbeirat, Landratsamt Oberallgäu).
- November 2014 to December 2019 project management of the biodiversity conservation project on a fresh water mussle and endangered species of damselflies (www.bachmuschel.de, www.azurjungfer.de) with Landschaftspflegeverband Unterallgäu (www.lpv-unterallgaeu.de).
- Since November 2015 teaching assignment at the University of Applied Sciences, Kempten
