Remarks: The Paradise Birdwing is one of the world's rarest butterfly species. It was believed to be extinct
but rediscovered in the Kau Wildlife Area, at Baitabag/Madang Province at the beginning of
the 90's. The species is protected, included in the Red List of Threatened Animals and listed
in Appendix B of the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).
